Refferals and fees
Referrals
If you would like to see one of our psychologists, then please fill out our contact form, or phone one of our admin staff during business hours (monday - friday) on 03 5201 3911.
Please note that Camfield Psychology Associates is not a crisis service, our speciality is the provision of psychological therapy rather than acute intervention services, and wait times for accessing a psychologist can vary.
If you need immediate support then please contact the following specialist acute intervention servies:

Please note that we require you to obtain a referral from your GP in order to access our services (even if you aren’t planning to obtain a Mental Health Care Plan). This is to ensure that we can deliver best practice of care, and that there is a medical practitioner who is also involved/coordinated with your psychological treatment.
If you are eligible for a Mental Health Care Plan under the Better Access to Mental Health Care Scheme, then you can claim rebates through Medicare for up to 10 sessions with a clinical psychologist per calendar year (re-sets January 1st each new year).

Service provision
We primarily provide psychological assessment and treatment to individuals under Medicare or private funding. We also provide services under TAC, WorkCover or NDIS, although places are limited, please enquire via info@camfieldconsulting.com.au if seeking treatment under these funding arrangements.
We are unable to provide support for:
-severe mental illness that is in an acute stage and requires inpatient treatment (i.e. active psychotic episode, eating disorder that requires hosptialization, substance use disorder requiring residential rehabilitation etc.).
-People under the age of 16
-referrals for primary reason of obtaining court-related assessments, legal reports, or medico-legal matters (we specialize in psychological treatment, not one off assessments/reports).
-obtaining an initial assessment for ADHD or autism (although we regularly work with neurodivergent individuals in the delivery of our treaments).
For some mental health conditions, a psychiatrist referral is required:
If you have a history of mania, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, or bipolar affective disorder, a referral from a psychiatrist is required before engaging in our service. This helps us ensure your treatment pathway is safe, appropriate, and well supported.
